Kirk grew up in southern California but didn’t get exposed to volleyball until moving to Europe for high school where he was the starting setter for the Varsity team. Upon returning to the US for college, he played club volleyball for 5 years. The highest competition he played was at UC-Santa Barbara where he received his PhD in Organic Chemistry. 

Later, after many years of club volleyball, he had the pleasure of coaching his daughter at Pilot Butte Middle School. In his 2nd year at NPJ, he will bring his passion for the game and is looking forward to fostering a competitive and fun environment.
